What is Deen Dayal Jan Awas Yojna?
The Deen Dayal Jan Awas Yojna was introduced by the Government of Haryana in 2016 as an affordable housing plotting policy to encourage the development of cost-effective high-density residential plotted colonies in low and medium potential towns of the state.
This policy is launched by the Government of Haryana under section 9A of the Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas Act, 1975.
As per the provisions of the Deen Dayal Jan Awas Yojna, the residential plotted colonies are expected to be completed within 7 years (5+2) from the date of license issuance.

The maximum plot area allowed under DDJAY is 150 sq/meters, and 30% of the planned residential area of the city is reserved for the development of these plotted colonies.
The area covered under these projects must be between 5 and 15 acres.
Licenses for this policy will be granted after considering the 20% group housing area limit. Once this limit is reached, a 10% extended limit under the residential zone of the net planned area can be provided.
A separate floor registry is available under this policy.
Under this policy, the colonizer is required to transfer 10% of the licensed colony to the government for the development of community facilities that remain cost-free.
